Championship FAQ

Sierra Nevada Moto Championship FAQ

We’ve had a few questions come our way regarding the championship this season, so we wanted to get this in front of everyone to help answer some of the most common questions!

To ensure the continued operation of NNKC Minimoto and the Sierra Nevada Moto Championship, we have implemented a mandatory mandatory-volunteerism model. Under this structure, all racers who wish to be eligible for the final championship standings must volunteer for one (1) race day during the season.

The racing season will happen over the course of three (3) weekends, with each day acting as a separate round. This format was specifically chosen to ensure that even out-of-town racers competing in the 2026 Sierra Nevada Moto Championship will be able to race every weekend. Racers assigned to volunteer on one day will be able to compete on the alternate day of that same weekend.

Although the series consists of six (6) rounds, your volunteer round will award maximum (25) points toward your championship points total and final position. This approach ensures fairness and prevents any competitive advantage.

For rounds 1-5, volunteers will be selected at random. Round 6 will be fully staffed by our title sponsor.

• Round 1 & 2 – May 23 & 24

• Round 3 & 4 – August 8 & 9

• Round 5 & 6 – October 3 & 4

Q: Am I still allowed to race if I can’t attend all the rounds?

A: Yes. Riders may participate in any rounds they are able to attend and will receive points and awards based on finishing position. However, points earned will not count towards the 2026 Sierra Nevada Moto Championship standings unless the required volunteer obligation is fulfilled.

Q: Can someone volunteer on my behalf?

A: No. NNKC Minimoto requires championship riders to personally fulfill their volunteer requirement. Additional volunteers are always appreciated.

Q: If I cannot volunteer on a race day, can I contribute in another way and still be eligible for the championship?

A: No, but under extreme circumstances, riders may contact the club email (nnkcminimoto@gmail.com)

Q: Is there an age requirement for volunteering within the championship?

A: Yes, children 17 and under are exempt from mandatory volunteerism.

If you have additional questions, please email us (nnkcminimoto@gmail.com) for further assistance.
